Health and Safety Policy

G.T.S. is committed to a strong Health and Safety program that protects its employees, sub contractors, visitors, the general public and property. Preventing the accidental loss of any of these resources is of primary importance.

In fulfilling this commitment to protect both people and property, we will continually improve our Health and Safety program conforming to the legislative requirements and to the best road building practices. This will be achieved by the complete and active participation of every one in this company which is necessary for the safety excellence that G.T.S. expects.

Our objective is to maintain a Health and Safety program that will offer a healthy and safe work environment to all and reduce the number of injuries, illnesses and accident to an absolute minimum.

We recognize that the responsibilities for health and safety are shared:

  • Management accepts the responsibility for leadership of the Health and Safety program, for its effectiveness and improvement, and for providing the safeguards required ensuring safe conditions in the work environment. Management will also communicate the company’s commitment to health and safety and its importance to all workers through the Health and Safety program annual review.
  • Supervisors are responsible for developing the proper attitudes toward health and safety themselves and in those they supervise, and for insuring that all operations are performed with the utmost regard for the health and safety of all personnel involved. In cooperation with management and workers, supervisors will strive to develop and implement new health and safety initiatives to constantly improve our work environment.
  • Employees are responsible for wholehearted, genuine cooperation with all aspects of the Health and Safety program, including compliance with all company policies, rules and government legislation, and for continually practicing health and safety while performing their duties.

Our goal is zero incidents and injuries, and to provide a healthy and safe work place to all. G.T.S. trusts that all of you will join us in a personal commitment to make safety a way of life.
